Job Description:

Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary & College was established in 1987 and is owned and operated by the Canadian National Baptist Convention. (cnbc.ca) The campus is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and is fully accredited by the Association of Theological Schools as well as the Association of Biblical Higher Education. The school is looking for a full-time, residential professor of theology who is a convictional Baptist. The primary area of teaching would be theology, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, in person as well as online. However, the ability to teach in other academic areas would be of great benefit.

Qualified candidates would have:

  • Committed Christian character and evidence of a call to Christian ministry
  • The ability to affirm the school’s doctrinal statement (https://cnbc.ca/articles/cnbc-confession-of-faith)
  • A PhD or equivalent in theological studies and some successful teaching experience
  • Desire and ability to mentor students from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Cross-cultural or international work or ministry experience
  • Ministry experience in the local church
  • Recognizable leadership skills, especially in higher education or administration
  • Strong people skills and the ability to serve as a team player
  • Strong communication skills in speaking and writing
  • Experience or potential in research, writing and publishing.

Admissions Coordinator

Location: 200 Seminary View, Cochrane, AB

Responsibilities

The Admissions coordinator is chiefly responsible for the growth and management of enrolment at the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College.

Functions

  • Manage the seminary and college’s recruiting efforts, including supervision of recruitment staff, oversight of record keeping of prospective students, and engagement in direct recruiting efforts.
  • In conjunction with the vice president’s marketing team, manage publicity efforts specific to recruitment, including giving direction to the development of written and electronic materials that promote the school.
  • Work closely with the vice president in developing programs, strategies, and resources useful for purposes of recruitment for both the seminary and college.
  • Define strategic objectives and provide expertise, direction, and insight on the use of direct marketing tactics to achieve institutional goals, as well as assist in long range planning.
  • Represent the school by speaking in churches and various meetings, as well as meeting with individuals and groups throughout North America to make people aware of the seminary and college.
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing virtual and live stream events and activities.
  • Coordinate and manage a booth for the school at such strategic events as the CNBC annual meeting, the SBC annual meeting, and sundry conventions/events.
  • As needed, be available to CBTS&C Trustees in their meetings to report on activities within the Office of Admissions.

 

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must have a philosophy of life that is congruent with the policies, objectives, and doctrinal statement of CBTS&C. Must possess the highest standards of personal integrity, a strong work ethic and an optimistic outlook.
  • An active member of a CNBC church
  • University degree preferred. (Communications, Business, Marketing)
  • Ability to think creatively to gain access to new pools of prospective students.
  • Ability to promote the vision and mission of CBTS&C
  • Sensitivity and ability to work with a diversity of people and cultural groups.
  • Solid quantitative skills to measure, track, and compare forecasts against results.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and electronic media.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Obvious time management, presentation, and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with administrative and support personnel.
  • Willingness to engage in open and clear communication with school administration.

Guest Housing Custodian

Location: 200 Seminary View, Cochrane, AB
Reports To: Facility Manager
Department: Facility Department
Status: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week
Posting Date: Oct 21-Nov 5, 2021
Salary/Wage: $15 Per Hour

Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Receptionist to coordinate guest housing move in and out cleanings and reports directly to the Facilities Manager.
  2. To clean the CSBS&C Guest House units immediately after guests depart.
  3. To clean empty student apartments before a move-in as requested.
  4. May include other custodial duties as required and assigned by the Facilities Manager.

 

Functions:  

  • Get guest units ready for the next guest:
    • Replace the sheets and towels with freshly laundered linens immediately after each guest leaves the units to be sure it is ready for the next incoming guest.
    • Vacuum carpets in all guest housing areas.
    • Wash non-carpeted floor areas.
    • Collect and dispose of garbage or re-cycle paper, pop cans etc.
    • Clean glass doors, windows, and windowsills.
    • Clean and disinfect kitchen counter-tops, dishes, utensils and sink areas.
    • Re-fill coffee, coffee filters, tea, creamer and sugar.
    • Clean and disinfect washroom countertops, sinks, mirrors, urinals, and toilets.
    • Re-fill paper products and soap in kitchens and washrooms.
    • Clean tables, chairs, and other furnishings in the units.
    • Use a checklist to ensure guest units are ready for the next guest.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and paper products and request supplies before running out of product.
  • Replace fluorescent light tubes, bathroom and exit light bulbs.
  • Report any defects or building maintenance requests (using “Maintenance Request” forms) to Facilities Manager.
  • Keep guest house units locked during times of vacancy and unlock them on the arrival dates of guests.
  • In vacant units keep all windows and doors closed, lights turned off and the heat turned down.
  • Work with the Facilities Manager to ensure furnishings and decorations of guest housing are appropriately managed and updated when necessary.
