This is a full-time pastoral leadership role that requires someone who has mature faith in Jesus Christ, a deep love for children and youth and a commitment to shepherding the faith of the next generation. As the Next Gen pastor, you will be reporting to the Senior Pastor, and also working collaboratively with the associate pastors and congregational pastors. You will lead the Next Gen steering committee, comprised of paid staff (Ministry Directors and Assistants) and volunteers (including Next Gen Deacons from Cantonese, Mandarin and English congregations), to implement the vision for the Next Gen ministry of our church. You must lead a life that is exemplary and above reproach according to Biblical Standards (as outlined in ECCC’s Constitution and Bylaws).

Seeking for Transitional Pastor

We are looking for a specialized leader to guide our congregation through the journey of pastoral transition. This person would have the heart of a loving servant leader and has the ability to quickly gel with our leadership team. This person will work within the distinctive of our Baptist congregation. We are looking for someone who is called to this Transitional Ministry and sees it as an expression of the grace of God.

The individual will assist us in dealing with the past so that it does not impact our future, will provide preaching, congregational care, relationship renewal, vision clarity, organizational health, and the search process for our permanent full-time Pastor.

Lead Pastor – Closes December 31st, 2021

HLEC is looking for a Lead pastor with a shepherd’s heart. If you need a mall or a movie theatre to be entertained we might not be a good fit, but High Level has many opportunities for those who know how to get involved in the local community and enjoy God’s great outdoors including a decent golf course.

HLEC is in the town of High Level, a community of about 3000 in very northern Alberta with a base of farming and forestry. We are a young, contemporary congregation with a weekly attendance of around 200 and a part of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. Ministry to families is a high priority for us.

The Lead Pastor, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the board, will lead the membership to a closer and deeper relationship with God. He will do this through solid Bible-based teaching and preaching that has application at all levels of maturity. The Lead Pastor will also lead the church by demonstrating the love of God through his own servant leadership and shepherd care for those around him. He will assist the board in casting vision for the future, in training and discipling leaders, demonstrating a strong commitment to prayer, and actively promoting reaching out to the lost with the gospel.

Do you have a passion for youth development, love spending time outdoors, and want to sail on board a tall ship? Apply now to work at SALTS! Openings available for Watch Officer, Bosun, and Cook roles. 

Watch Officer: Lead a watch (small group) and provide youth mentorship and care to the young people on board the ship

Bosun: Provide mentorship and care while conducting ship maintenance under the guidance of the Captain and First Mate

Cook: Cook meals and an evening snack for everyone on board, and provide mentorship and care

Required: the ability to provide mentorship and Christian spiritual care to young people and a desire to participate in all aspects of shipboard life. Sailing experience is beneficial but not necessary for new crew members; SALTS provides the pre-season and ongoing training needed to fulfill each role.

Contracts begin January 2022 or earlier and continue through December 2022.
