Primary Reserve Chaplains

Information about entry standards is detailed below:

  1. Standards for enrolment as a Canadian Armed Forces chaplain include the following:
    • Canadian citizenship;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;
    • Graduate-level degree (Master of Divinity or equivalent) from an institution accredited by the Association of Theological Schools or similar, providing professional training and formation for faith group leaders;
    • Formal recognition as a faith group leader within one’s own tradition (i.e. ordination or Pastoral Mandate) as recognized by the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy (ICCMC);
    • Two years of supervised, full-time recognized ministry experience as a faith group leader (post-ordination/pastoral mandate) in your specific faith tradition;
    • Must be between 18-56 years of age; and
    • Must be able to pass the Canadian Forces Aptitude Test, Fitness test and standard medical examination.
  2. Applicants for the Primary Reserve Force (part-time faith leadership) will meet with both the Brigade Chaplain and the Unit Commanding Officer, and will be required to pass a selection board similar to Regular Force applicants.  Chaplain applicants must also follow the standard recruiting process for all applicants to the Canadian Armed Forces via their local Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre (CFRC).
  3. A key component of any application to serve as a Canadian Armed Forces Chaplain is an endorsement for faith leadership through the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy.  This application for endorsement must be processed through the Director of Chaplain Services 2-2 at the Office of the Chaplain General, assisted by your local RCChS Recruiter area Chaplain Staff Officer or the Brigade Chaplain.

Seeking for Transitional Pastor

We are actively seeking a trained Intentional Transitional Pastor.

We are looking for a specialized leader to guide our congregation through the journey of pastoral transition. This person would have the heart of a loving servant leader and has the ability to quickly gel with our leadership team. This person will work within the distinctive of our Baptist congregation. We are looking for someone who is called to this Transitional Ministry and sees it as an expression of the grace of God.

The individual will assist us in dealing with the past so that it does not impact our future, will provide preaching, congregational care, relationship renewal, vision clarity, organizational health, and the search process for our permanent full-time Pastor.

Summer Day Camp Leader

In light of covid19, Camp Hope will be running Day Camps this summer (2021). Children and youth who access Hope Mission’s Hub Centre in the Forest Lawn community of Calgary will be invited to attend summer day camps at Camp Hope. Day Camp Leaders are a key part of creating a fun, welcoming, and Christ-centered camp experience for participants. As a Day Camp Leader, you will be responsible for supervising day campers and building positive and caring relationships. You will be responsible for leading group games, chapels, Bible studies, and activities such as archery, sling shot course, arts and crafts, and wilderness skills. Cleaning and covid-19 sanitization will be a part of daily responsibilities. All team members will be responsible for following and ensuring all day campers follow covid-19 protocols.

First Aid Attendant

In light of covid-19, Camp Hope will be running Day Camps this summer (2021). Children and youth who access Hope Mission’s Hub Centre in Calgary’s Forest Lawn community will be invited to attend summer day camps at Camp Hope. The First Aid Attendant will be responsible for taking the lead in all medical emergencies of day campers and team members (injuries, illness). You will also oversee medication administration and maintain accurate records for all emergencies, injuries, and medication distribution. In the instance of a camper needing to go to the hospital you will either go with the camper or ensure the designated driver has all pertinent medical information. You will maintain medical supply inventory and communicate with administration if supplies need to be ordered. When not required for First Aid emergencies you will be a floater, supporting day camp groups as necessary. Cleaning and covid-19 sanitization will be a part of daily responsibilities. All team members will be responsible for following and ensuring all day campers follow covid-19 protocols.

Camp Secretary

In light of covid-19, Camp Hope will be running Day Camps this summer (2021). Children and youth who access Hope Mission’s Hub Centre in Calgary’s Forest Lawn community will be invited to attend summer day camps at Camp Hope. The Camp secretary will be on site at Camp Hope to greet and ensure guests to camp have signed in. You will also be responsible for calling families to remind them of their registration dates and communication with parents as needed. You will oversee the administration needs of the camp, working to support the Camp Manager and the summer team. When not required for secretary duties, you will be a floater, supporting day camp groups as necessary. Cleaning and covid-19 sanitization will be a part of daily responsibilities. All team members will be responsible for following and ensuring all day campers follow covid-19 protocols.

Children and youth who access Hope Mission’s Tegler Youth Centre in NorthEast Edmonton will be invited to attend summer day camps at Brightwood. Day Camp Leaders are a key part of creating a fun, welcoming, and Christ-centered camp experience for participants. As a Day Camp Leader, you will be responsible for supervising day campers and building positive and caring relationships. You will be responsible for leading group games, chapels, Bible studies, and activities such as archery, sling shot course, arts and crafts, and wilderness skills. Cleaning and covid-19 sanitization will be a part of daily responsibilities. All team members will be responsible for following and ensuring all day campers follow covid-19 protocols.

NOTE: Team members living at Brightwood Ranch over the summer will be asked to commit to being a cohort for the summer to reduce the risk of covid-19 spread while living at the camp.

Summer Staff

We are currently looking for summer staff for our 2021 season. Our summer program exists to share the gospel and provide an environment where youth and their families can grow and have a lot of fun. We would like to gather a staff team of Christians who are interested in serving and caring for the teenagers and families who will be at camp. For those who are familiar with Cedarwood, our focus for this summer has adjusted to provide a place for teenagers and their families. This summer we will run our camps which make Cedarwood, our activities and fun available for the whole family.

Summer positions at Cedarwood give you the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways. In addition to sharing the gospel, we are looking for people who are interested in:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing
  • Maintenance work
  • Kitchen work
  • Leading and supervising activities
  • Providing care and support to families
  • Lifeguarding
  • Acting as camp nurse or health care professional

The Summer Ministry Director will reside at the Camp. Camp Cedarwood is a ministry of YFC Winnipeg. We host rental groups, run a successful summer camp and invite students to join us in our discipleship program.
