Master of Christian Ministry (McMin)


Program Description

The Master of Christian Ministry (MCMin) degree program is designed to prepare graduates for competent Christian leadership in a wide variety of ministry callings. Foundational studies include Bible, theology, ministry skills and praxis.


  1. The prerequisite for this degree is a BA degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university.
  2. A total of 55 credit hours are required for the completion of the degree.
  3. At least 20 credit hours must be completed on campus to provide regular and substantive student-faculty interaction to facilitate achieving the degree outcomes.

Tracks within this degree program include:

Applied Ministry

  • Gain skills in studying and interpreting the Bible.
  • Graduates demonstrate a general understanding of Christian theology and ethics.
  • Gain skills in teaching, evangelism, spiritual growth, and leadership.

Pastoral Leadership

  • Designed to give graduates a basic foundation for various roles in pastoral ministries.
  • It is well suited for those looking for basic pastoral training in a wide variety of settings but attainable in a shorter amount of time.

Missions & Church Planting

  • Designed to equip leaders for missional ministry in tough places.
  • Suited for those who are preparing to serve as church planters or missionaries.
  • Option of a field-based internship.

The Canadian Baptist College is recognized by the Province of Alberta, and the Bachelor of Christian Ministry (BCMin) degree is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). This degree is a Designated Learning Program and eligible to receive foreign nationals on a study permit under the DLI number 019256741082.
